laughingsquid: The Obama Family Watching The World Cup at The White House I love this photo.  I always love when we get to see into the lives of famous people, but I especially enjoy it when it’s done in such a respectful and down-to-earth way.  They seem like they could be any other family.  I love the little “normal” details: the snacks in front of the president, the TV remotes, the cup on the carpet next to Malia’s feet, the way the ladies are barefoot, the looks on their faces… I also love how we get to see the president in what might be considered an unconventional way—that is, in a non-professional setting.  Here we see one of the most powerful people in the world in a casual outfit, in a casual environment, spending time with his family.  It seems to me that this administration shows us more of these kinds of images than previous ones did, and I’m grateful for it. Photos like this one are the reason for the expression, “a photo is worth a thousand words.”
